With my bargain antennae up and alert I not only look for great deals on the street- I look for fab women wearing the great deals. If you know me, you know I can smell a great sale a mile away.
This week I met two Sarahs……literally.
Check out Sarah #1 from Toronto. I stopped her dead in her tracks when I saw her distressed jeans. After complimenting them I asked their history. She told me they were DIESEL jeans, normally (get this) $325 retail. “Sarah, are you smoking crack?” I thought to myself. Nope, apparently she’s not. She got these at a Diesel Sample Sale in Toronto, Canada and she paid $180.00 for them. For Diesel, that’s great and I gave her two Dress Recycler thumbs up for not paying full price.
***NOTE TO SELF*** If you are rockin’ some distressed jeans this fall please be aware that distressing the fabric WEAKENS the fabric. You must be careful when washing as the rips and shreds can become larger and more broad. Never buy ripped jeans with rips near the crease of the seat or near back pockets. If you have a butt like me it only gets worse when you sit.
Here’s Sarah #2….Lovely singer/songwriter that gave me a complimentary copy of her CD “Chandelier”. I took one look at her and stopped her immediately to ask the history of her velvet coat with faux fur collar. She told me it was Betsey, (MY FAVE) and that she didn’t pay full price for it. She couldn’t remember how much she paid, but as long as she got a good deal that’s all that matters. It was night when I took this shot, however, you can see the beautiful embroidery from the waist to the hem and the sleeves. It was stunning and vintage chic. Two Dress Recycler Thumbs Up for Sarah #2.
You never know where I might be!
I am – The Dress Recycler; coming to a ‘hood near you.
